This Supplement contains the standard content of DIN EN 60898-2, which has been supplemented with the content of DIN EN 60898-1 for reasons of consistent readability, which is necessary for the application of DIN EN 60898-2. In addition to the requirements for AC circuit breakers in accordance with the scope of DIN EN 60898-1, the scope of DIN EN 60898-2 also includes requirements for single-pole and double-pole circuit breakers designed to be operated with direct current with a rated DC voltage (DC) not exceeding 220 V for single-pole circuit breakers and 440 V for double-pole circuit breakers, a rated current not exceeding 125 A, and a rated switching capacity for direct currents (DC) not exceeding 10 000 A. The Supplement contains the information from DIN EN 60898-2, supplemented by the content of DIN EN 60898-1, which is necessary for the application of DIN EN 60898-2. The original version of DIN EN 60898-2 only refers to this content of DIN EN 60898-1 and modifies it at relevant points. Even though the technical content of DIN EN 60898-2 is not modified by the Supplement, the Supplement is for information purposes only and can be used as a reading aid.
