Overview

This Supplement is part of IEC 61810 and applies to electromechanical elementary relays (electromechanical switching relays without specified time characteristics) intended for installation in low-voltage equipment (circuits up to 1 000 V AC or 1 500 V DC). The Supplement explains which dielectric strength values apply to functional insulation for contact clearances. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of the document. Application of this document enables manufacturers and users to increase their investment security, while it provides testing laboratories and manufacturers with specific information for testing and improves product compatibility across manufacturers.
