Overview
This Supplement describes how ground lightning density can be determined in order to assess the lightning hazard in a specific area as the basis for risk management in accordance with DIN EN IEC 62305-2 (VDE 0185-305-2). There are no restrictions on the scope of application of this Supplement. The standard differs from DIN EN 62305-2 Supplement 1 (VDE 0185-305-2 Supplement 1):2013-02 as follows: a) editorial revision of the Supplement; b) the map of the annual ground lightning density Ng for vehicle registration areas in Germany is no longer used; c) provision of an online source for determining the annual ground lightning density Ng. This Supplement is used to conduct a risk analysis in order to determine the lightning protection measures required.
This document replaces DIN EN 62305-2 Beiblatt 1:2013-02; VDE 0185-305-2 Beiblatt 1:2013-02 .
