Overview

This document specifies requirements for non-temperature-controlled product groups (for example, preserved and processed fruit, nuts, grain products, spices/herbs, and their products and mixtures) for returnable transport packaging (RTP) made of (re)closable containers made of food-safe plastics that come into direct contact with the product in a reuse system in accordance with DIN EN 13429. This document is applicable to all trade processes and the uncooled distribution of food between the manufacturer, supplier, and end customer. In particular, it provides an overview of product and food safety; identification and labeling (permanent and temporary), among other things, as a pioneer for digitally supported (re)traceability; return, reconditioning, and compatibility in combination with single-use and other transport packaging for the efficient utilization of load carriers as well as transport and storage space. This DIN SPEC has been prepared in accordance with the PAS procedure. DIN SPECs are developed in accordance with the PAS procedure in DIN SPEC consortia and do not necessarily involve all interested parties.
