This standard applies for outdoor synthetic turf areas with filled or unfilled pile layers. A synthetic turf area should allow the use for a variety of sports games. This includes in particular sports like football, hockey, American football and tennis, for training and competition, but also for school sports and other types of sports games. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-01-21 AA "Kunststoffrasenflächen (SpA zu CEN/TC 217/WG 6)" ("Synthetic turf areas (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 217/WG 6)") at DIN.
