Overview

This document specifies a standardized test method for evaluating fiber fragments released from a textile material during simulated washing. The disclosed method enables a quick and simple comparison of the captured fiber fragment discharge amounts among various textile materials, permitting the shedding classification of textile materials based on a visual evaluation. This serves as a simplified complementary method to existing testing methods. This DIN SPEC has been developed according to the PAS procedure. The development of a DIN SPEC according to the PAS procedure is carried out in DIN-SPEC-consortiums and does not require the participation of all stakeholders.
