Overview

The aim of the specification series is preparation of a common and uniform description of requirements for R744 air conditioning systems for all passenger vehicles types of the participating vehicle manufacturers in cooperation with component suppliers in order to reduce possible development risks for this new technology. Description of the system’s functioning can begin resource-saving development and thus make it possible to use R744 air conditioning systems in start applications. This DIN SPEC specifies the functions and requirements from the viewpoint of the vehicle manufacturer for quality, strength and service life for electrical coolant compressor that are operated in refrigeration circuits using refrigerant R744, and it also specifies the appropriate tests. The components are identically or similarly designed for the vehicle manufacturers. Clear framework conditions for development and qualification of the components derive from this functional description.
