Overview

This DIN SPEC in accordance with the PAS procedure was developed within a workshop set up on a temporary basis. The DIN SPEC was developed and approved by the authors named in the foreword. This DIN SPEC defines requirements relating to metal sections for use in lightweight metal framing wall construction (loadbearing and non-loadbearing elements), in the form of a set of specifications, which have been identified by planners and contractors in the light of the fact that the installation of cables and other supply lines is becoming increasingly sophisticated. On the basis of this information, the manufacturers of lightweight metal framing components will be able to adjust metal section construction to meet these requirements, taking into account the required mechanical and physical properties.
