This document specifies the process for carrying out optical measurements to assess the defect density of films made from recycled plastics including the description of defect characteristics, the limits of the method and the types of film that can be used. The test pieces to be used and their scope for the procedure are described. In addition, the preparation conditions as well as the required accuracy of the test method are defined. Corresponding requirements for reporting and documentation of the test are established. This DIN SPEC has been developed according to the PAS procedure. The development of a DIN SPEC according to the PAS procedure is carried out in DIN-SPEC-consortiums and does not require the participation of all stakeholders.
