Overview

This document specifies requirements for a standardized data interface of AI-supported process machines and sensor nodes. This includes a guideline for defining relevant and suitable state variables for any process machine as well as the definition of generic message types and formats for established industry interfaces (OPC-UA, MQTT, LoRaWAN, MIOTY, etcetera) to ensure the feasibility of optimization. This document covers the properties of an information message for all state variables of the machine, the content of gradient messages and which messages should receive a timestamp. A prototypical implementation of a process node illustrates the applicability. In order to handle inevitable incompatibilities between different process steps, a further component of the interface will be a dynamic expandability of the information exchanged with neighboring nodes for material description. Known correlations or correlations to be learned between internal and new variables are taken into account. This DIN SPEC has been developed according to the PAS procedure. The development of a DINSPEC according to the PAS procedure is carried out in DIN-SPEC-consortiums and does not require the participation of all stakeholders.
