Short description

The document is applicable to new plants for preparing asphalt (asphalt mixing plants) and in case of essential alterations of existing plants. It encompasses all process steps from the storage of the mineral materials, the binder and the fuels through to loading of the mixed materials. Subject to the conditions given in section 1.4.6, it also applies to the reuse of pitch-containing materials recovered from roads (coal tar pitch containing mineral materials). It does not deal with mobile mastic asphalt mixers (truck); mobile minirecyclers (< 2t/h).
