Short description

The document specifies a light-microscopy method for detecting asbestos fibres in samples from thechnical products whose asbestos mass fraction is at least 1 %. It is also possible to detect lower contents, in many preparations, by increasing the sample preparation work. It is possible to detect fibres of a thickness less than approximately 1 µm; however, reliable identification of these fibres is no longer possible.
