Short description
This guideline specifies methods for determining diffusive emissions from industrial halls and buildings of livestock farming. It allows for the determination of emission rates by indirect and direct methods. In the case of the direct methods, the emission measurement is carried out directly at the source and is always based on the measurement of the volume flow and the concentration. By indirect methods one understands emission measurements at a certain distance from the diffuse source in consideration of the meteorological boundary parameters.Diffusive emissions from areas in the vicinity of the halls or buildings that form part of the plant are not treated in this guideline, nor are diffusive emissions of particulate matter. The use of this guideline requires knowledge of guideline VDI 4285 Part 1, which describes the basic concepts of determining diffusive emissions by measurements.
