Short description
This standard applies to all threaded joints for vehicles and their add-on parts on vehicles that are suitable for use on public roads due to their design. This applies to all facilities and companies involved in vehicle manufacture, component manufacture, maintenance and repair of the vehicle. The standard deals with all bolted joint cases that are specified by torque and/or angle of rotation. The standard represents a guide for the selection and use of fastening tools/fastening systems according to specified bolted joint cases. This is done on the basis of a prior risk assessment. The main criteria are safety, availability and environmental protection. The standard provides the user with framework conditions for the selection of fastening tools and thus ensures the safe production of bolted joints.
