The standard describes the set-up and usage of radiation sources used for adjusting and calibration of radiation thermometers and thermography cameras. The purpose of adjusting and calibrating radiation thermometers is the traceability of temperature measurement devices to the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90). This enables to specify the measurement uncertainty. This standard is addressed to users of radiation thermometers and thermographic cameras who wish to understand the functionality of calibration radiators, in order to make an informed choice of a calibration radiator and use it optimally.
