This standard specifies valid procedures for the calibration of measuring devices for electrical quantities considering efficiency aspects and thus creates a uniform and industry-wide basis for the inspection of measuring and test equipment. The standard deals with the calibration of test equipment to check electrical safety. It does not claim to completely cover all metrological properties of this equipment which are also of importance for calibration. According to the design of the testing device or its conditions of use, the scope of the calibration maybe reduced or extended in agreement with the customer.
