Overview
This document describes a calculation method for determining the current carrying capacity of single core, unshielded electrical cables intended for use in road vehicles. The maximum current carrying capacity is determined by taking the ambient temperature and the continuous operating temperature of the specific cable into account. This is supplemented by calculations of the I2t value in the event of a short circuit. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 052-00-32 AA at Working Group NA 052-00-32-04 AK "Elektrische Fahrzeugleitungen" ("Automotive electrical cables") DIN Standards Committee Road Vehicles and Mobility (NAAutomobil).
