This national standard contains terminological bases. Milk processing plants have the task to process milk into products which are ready for sale. The machinery, plants and equipment necessary for this are dependent on the production programme and each respective method to be used; they shall already be taken into account during planning in accordance with the rules of the technology and, above all, due to reasons of optimisation. This document has been prepared by Working Group (WG) "Milchwirtschaftliche Maschinen und Anlagen" ("Milk processing machinery and plant") of Working Committee (WC) "Molkereimaschinen" ("Dairy machinery") at the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM).
