Overview

This standard applies to ground plans for components for buildings for fire brigade use and specifies minimum requirements for the components of a ground plan for fire brigade use, its content, and execution. The standard does not apply to fire brigade operational plans. However, ground plans for fire brigade use may serve as a basis for the preparation of operational plans. The standard is intended to standardize the plans required by the fire brigade for particular structural and technical facilities (such as factory premises). Ground plans for fire brigade use and managerial instruments and serve to prepare for operations, provide rapid orientation, and assess the situation. More specifically, they provide support in the following areas: - initial information during the approach to assist in assessing the layout of the area and identifying potential focal points of the operation; - detailed information at the scene of the incident in order to initiate specific operational measures; - situation management and documentation. Ground plans for fire brigade use are not part of the building documentation, but may be required by the building permit authority and other authorities. Whether or not ground plans for fire brigade use are required for a building depends on its location, type, and use. The standard differs from the previous edition, DIN 14095:2024-02 as follows: - the standard has been amended to adapt the model plan, among other things, to the new edition of DIN 14034-6, Graphical symbols for fire brigade - Part 6: Equipment in buildings, and thus to update DIN 14095. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 031-04-02 AA "Bauliche Anlagen und Einrichtungen" ("Constructional facilities and equipment") at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
