Overview
Sieves for pumps and reservoirs are used to keep out foreign objects: - three sizes are specified for suction connections: A, B and C sieves (AS, BS, CS); - one size is specified for filling nozzles: B sieve (BF). The standard specifies requirements for the materials, design and dimensions of these sieves. The April 1987 edition of DIN 14423 has been revised in order to bring the content of the standard up to date. In particular, the normative material references have been updated. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 031-04-05 AA "Feuerlöschpumpen - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 2" ("Firefighting pumps - mirror committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 2") at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
