Overview

This standard applies to diamond impregnated discs used in optical engineering for separation of brittle materials. It specifies uniform dimensions and tolerances for diameter, grinding wheel thickness and machine connection. This allows for exchangeability of the discs on various optics processing machines. The committee responsible for this standardization project is NA 027-01-11 AA "Fertigungsmittel der Optik" ("Production means in optical engineering") at DIN.
