Overview

This standard shall be applied to self-locking nuts with maximum operating temperatures less than or equal to 425 °C and for standards, drawings or other documents when referred to this standard. It is applicable for nuts with ISO metric thread according to LN 9163-1 and LN 9163-2 as well as for nuts with MJ thread according to DIN ISO 5855-1 and DIN ISO 5855-2. This standard has been prepared by experts of NA 131-03-01 AA "Mechanische Verbindungselemente" ("Aerospace fasteners") of the Aerospace Standards Committee (NL). The responsible standards committee has decided not to replace LN 65016:1970-12 to obtain existing product standards which refer to LN 65016. It is intended to prepare new product standards which refer to DIN 65016.
