Overview
This part of EN 10270 applies to patented cold drawn unalloyed steel wire of circular cross-section for the manufacture of springs for static duty and dynamic duty applications. The former version DIN EN 10270-1:2001 has been fundamentally revised and brought into line with the current market requirements. A few important modifications are the following: update of chemical compositions, revision of the mechanical properties and quality requirements, modifications of the information for testing. The responsible German standardization committee is Subcommittee 08/4 "Patentiert-gezogener oder vergüteter Federstahldraht" ("Patented cold drawn or quenched and tempered spring steel wire") of the Iron and Steel Standards Committee (FES).
