Overview

In the new version of DIN EN 13869, the scope has been explained more precisely and the definition "lighter" has been revised. Furthermore, the term "novelty lighter" has been changed into "child-appealing lighter" and the term "manufacturer" has been explained in more detail. Moreover, clause 6 "Test report" has been completely revised. The standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 355 "Lighters" (secretariat: AFNOR, France) of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The responsible committee is Working Committee 9 "Feuerzeuge" ("Lighters") at NAEBM.
