Overview

With the new version of DIN EN 13869 the scope has been rendered more precise and the definition "lighter" has been revised. Furthermore the term "novelty lighter" has been changed to read "child appealing lighter" and the definition of "producer" has been rendered more precise. Furthermore, clause 6 "Test report" has been completely revised. The standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 355 "Lighters" (secretariat: AFNOR, France) of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The responsible German committee is Working Committee 9 "Feuerzeuge" ("Lighters") at NAEBM.
