This European Standard establishes general principles for bored piles, which are formed in the ground by excavation and are structural members used to transfer actions and/or limit deformations. It applies to piles with circular cross-section and barrettes provided that the cross-section is concreted in a single operation. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-05-07 AA "Baugrund; Pfähle" (SpA zu CEN/TC 288/WG 3, WG 5, WG 8 und WG 15 sowie CEN/TC 341/WG 4) ("Soil; piles (Mirror Committee to CEN/TC 288/WG 3, WG 5, WG 8, WG 15 and CEN/TC 341/WG 4)") at DIN.
