Overview

This European Standard applies to overhead contact systems for electric operation of main line railways, trams, trolley buses and industrial railways for trains from public and private operators. This standard applies to the installation of overhead contact systems and the complete reconstruction of existing installations. At DIN and VDE the responsible Working group is AK 351.2.2 within UK 351.2 "Ortsfeste Anlagen" ("Fixed installations") of the DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies.
