This standard applies to straight hollow metallic tubing for use as waveguides in electronic equipment. It covers the basic requirements for test methods, electrical and mechanical properties, and the details necessary to ensure compatibility and, where required, interchangeability. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.4 "Passive HF- und Mikrowellenbauelemente" ("RF and microwave passive components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
