Overview
This standard deals with the safety of electrical appliances and machinery for household and commercial purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances and machinery. Because of the European Corrigendum, the amendments have been implemented into the German version. Furthermore, during the printing of DIN EN 60335-1 (VDE 0700-1):2012-10 transfer errors have occurred, that are corrected in this amendment likewise. The responsible body is DKE/K 511 "Sicherheit elektrischer Hausgeräte" ("Safety of electric appliances for household purposes") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
