Overview
This standard applies to grinders, polishers and disk-type sanders, including angle, straight and vertical tools, with a rated capacity not exceeding 230 mm. For grinders the rated speed does not exceed a peripheral speed of the accessory of 80 m/s at rated capacity. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 60745-2-3 (VDE 0740-2-3):2010-06: a) the contents have been adjusted to the fourth edition of IEC 60745-1; b) requirements and tests have been adjusted to the new Machinery Directive. The responsible committee is K 514 "Elektrowerkzeuge" ("Electric tools") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60745-2-3:2010-06; VDE 0740-2-3:2010-06 .
