Overview
The standard includes a blank worksheet with instructions for preparing detail specifications. In the blank worksheet the components to be tested (connectors, cables), the associated standards (interface, optical interface, performance) as well as cable specifications are specified. Furthermore, a blank worksheet containing a test schedule is included in which tests conforming to IEC 61300 are selected and specified along with the test sequence and test periods. Consequently, the standard offers investment security for manufacturers and users and provides test laboratories and manufacturers with specified information regarding testing. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive optical components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
