This standard specifies dimensions, characteristics, requirements and test programmes for high-speed two-part connectors with integrated shielding function for use as printed board connectors primarily in telecommunications and enterprise computer network equipment. These connectors were originally developed in the consortium PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group to connect peripheral components to processors by using a bus structure or serially connected fabric based transports. This consortium, referred to in short as PICMG, has defined several system specifications describing a backplane connector (fixed connector) in combination with an edge board connector (free connector) as a functional component of a specified Plug-in Unit. These specifications are the AdvancedMC.0 and the MicroTCA.0. In contrast to the PICMG-standard, the connector described here consists of two halves (a fixed connector and a free connector). The fixed connector is a pluggable circuit board similar to the PICMG specification. The amendment adds an informative annex that specifies the test setup for the shock and vibration tests of weighted assemblies and printed circuit boards. The responsible committee is DKE/K 651 "Steckverbinder" ("Connectors") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 61076-4-116:2012-11; VDE 0687-76-4-116:2012-11 .
