Overview
In this part of IEC 61300 plugs are selected from connectors with physical contact (PC) which can be used as reference plugs in the return loss RL measurement and an acceptance return loss value RLa is defined which shall be used in plug acceptance testing. This procedure is for use to ensure a certain return loss value RL when two plugs are randomly mated. The products of the IEC 61754 (Fibre optic connector interfaces) standard series are used together with the standards of the series IEC 61755 (Optical interface) and IEC 61753 (performance standard) and are tested by standards of the series IEC 61300 (Basic test and measurement procedures). The standard is directed at manufacturers, testing institutes and users. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive optical components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 61300-3-39:1998-09 .
