Overview

This standard has been prepared revising the previous DIN EN 61427-1:2006-03 and is now exclusively for "off-grid", that is network-independent applications, whereas Part 2 is being developed for grid-connected applications. For this application, general information relating to the requirements for the secondary batteries used in photovoltaic energy systems (PVES) and to the typical methods of test used for the verification of battery performances is included. The present standard is applicable to all types of secondary batteries, thus also for lithium-based systems. The responsible committee is DKE/K 371 "Akkumulatoren" ("Accumulators") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

This document replaces DIN EN 61427:2006-03 .
