Overview

This standard concerns LED products intended to replace existing "conventional lamps" such as incandescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps or low-voltage halogen bulbs. This standard specifies the safety and interchangeability requirements, together with the test methods and conditions required to show compliance of LED-lamps with integrated means for stable operation (self-ballasted LED-lamps), intended for domestic and similar general lighting purposes, having a rated wattage up to 60 W, a rated voltage of > 50 V up to 250 V and which comprise certain caps given in this standard. The requirements of this standard relate only to type testing. The subcommittee responsible for this standard is DKE/UK 521.1 "Elektrische Lampen" ("Electrical lamps") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
