Overview

The document refers to the visual testing of fusion welds in metallic materials. The test is usually carried out immediately after the welding task has been carried out. As an exception, it can be performed at other times during the welding process, however, if it is required, for example, by an application standard or agreement between the contract partners. The responsible German committee is NA 062-08-20 AA "Zerstörungsfreie Prüfung; Obleuteausschuss" ("Non-destructive testing; Advisory group") at the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP).
