Overview

This standard serves to inform the people responsible for firefighting and technical assistance in or near electrical installations. The values of the minimum distances for approach and use of extinguishing agent specified in this standard do not apply to systems with nominal voltages of up to AC 50 V (alternating voltage)/DC 120 V (direct voltage). The standard does not apply to the construction and operation of stationary extinguishing systems, irrigation systems, water cannons and the like, as well as to special extinguishing measures such as flooding cable ducts with water or foam.
