The EasyCode provides a compact and practical supplement to the comprehensive Eurocode 3 "Design and Construction of Steel Structures." This concise guideline is particularly interesting for structural engineers who require quick, understandable, and safe solutions in their daily work routine. On 159 pages, the essential content for approximately 80 percent of all typical building projects is summarized.
Simplified Design: Focuses on frequently occurring steel construction designs in residential, industrial, and commercial buildings. Consideration of Essential Limit States: Emphasizes load-bearing capacity, serviceability, and durability. Compliance with Relevant Standards: Complies with DIN EN 1990:2010-12, DIN EN 1991, and DIN EN 1993 (all parts), as well as the corresponding National Annexes. Structured Presentation: Provides clear and comprehensible information without complicated cross-references.
Load-bearing structures with simple, predominantly orthogonal systems: Space structures can be subdivided into flat subsystems. Beam-column systems with braced supports: Promotes the stability of structures. Hall frame systems: Suitable for symmetrical, single-story designs with a roof pitch up to 26°. Crane runway girders: Suitable for load group S3 in superimposed bridge cranes with two wheel axes. Connections and stability-endangered components: Hinged and rigid solution possibilities. Cross-section classes and profiles: Rolled and welded profiles of classes 1 to 3. Areas not covered:
Cross-braced (orthotropic) plates Cold-formed cross-sections Tapered cross-section curves Truss supports and frame supports The EasyCode was published by the German Committee for Steel Construction (DASt) in collaboration with DIN and co-financed by bauforumstahl, the Federal Association of Testing Engineers for Structural Engineering, and the Chamber of Engineers NRW. The guide was developed from practical experience to provide professionals with a manageable version of design rules and to facilitate entry into Eurocode 3.
Structural Planners: Professionals seeking precise and efficient solutions. Architects: Individuals involved with steel construction projects. Civil Engineers: Engineers who want to understand and implement the Eurocode. Standard Enthusiasts: Anyone involved with construction regulations and standards.
The EasyCode offers a crucial supplement to Eurocode 3 and promotes efficiency, clarity, and enjoyment in planning with steel through its compact and practical presentation. Use this guide to simplify and structure the planning of steel construction projects.
