The purpose of this EN 13480 is the specification of requirements for design, manufacture, installation and testing of industrial metallic piping for safe operating conditions. The present standard is applicable to metallic piping above ground, ducted or buried, irrespective of pressure. This document (EN 13480-1:2012) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 267 "Industrial piping and pipelines", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 082-00-17 AA "Industrielle Rohrleitungen und Rohrfernleitungen" ("Industrial piping and pipelines") at the Piping and Boiler Plant Standards Committee (NARD).
