Overview

This standard deals with the safety of microwave ovens which are intended for household and similar use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. This standard describes the use of metallic containers in more detail. The spillage test in Clause 15 is described in detail for built-in and under-counter installations. Furthermore, tests have been added to check whether the turntable can fall out unintentionally when containers are removed. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 511.2 "Herde und Mikrowellengeräte" ("Cooking ranges and microwave ovens") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
