Overview
This standard deals with the safety of microwave ovens intended for household use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. In addition to the clear separation between commercial microwave ovens and those used in similar environments, requirements for microwave ovens used on board ships have been added to a new Annex BB. Furthermore the pollution degree of combination microwave ovens was defined for clarification as well as the endurance test for door hinges was rationalized. Finally subclause AA.19 was editorially corrected. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 511.2 "Herde und Mikrowellengeräte" ("Cooking ranges and microwave ovens") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
