Overview

This European standard specifies a method for testing the leak tightness of mechanical joints between thermoplastic or metallic fittings and thermoplastic pressure pipes under internal pressure. The standard is intended to be applied by manufacturers and users of socket joints as well as by relevant testing institutes. The standard particularly considers product safety aspects. DIN EN ISO 3458 is the German version of European standard EN ISO 3458 which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 "Plastics piping systems and ducting systems". The committee responsible for DIN EN ISO 3458 is NA 054-05-02 AA "Prüfverfahren für Rohre" ("Test methods for pipes") at DIN.
