The engineering standard ISO 8820-7 specifies Type G fuse-links and associated test fixtures for fuses for use in road vehicles, preferably suitable for use in vehicles with fuel cell drive. Specifications are made with respect to rated current, test procedures, requirements and dimensions for these fuses. The rated voltage for the fuses specified in this standard is 450 V, the rated current is 70 A and the breaking capacity is up to 2 000 A. Thus, such fuses are suitable for use in on-board networks at a nominal voltage of up to 450 V. Applying this standard ensures, on the one hand, suitability and quality of the applied fuse-links and, on the other hand, provides therewith for safe functioning of the electrical equipment of road vehicles. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 052-01-03-05 AK "Sicherungen" ("Fuses") at DIN.
